Welcome to Centre for Social Integration Program

At GIFT University, the Centre for Social Integration Program (SIP) reflects our commitment to fostering an entrepreneurial mindset, experiential learning, and ethical leadership, all aimed at driving positive societal change. SIP is dedicated to building better communities by promoting active involvement in service-based initiatives.

The Centre encourages students to adopt a mindset of service and entrepreneurial values, helping them grow personally by developing virtues and positive lifestyle habits. With a strong focus on community service, SIP empowers students to create their own social projects or collaborate with established organizations. Through volunteerism, SIP inspires students to make meaningful contributions to society while shaping them into socially responsible and empathetic leaders, prepared to drive socio-economic growth and positive change in their communities.

Vision

We aim to deliver transformational education with an ethical and entrepreneurial mindset, fostering socio-economic development and creating a positive social impact.

Mission

Developing ethical leaders with an entrepreneurial mindset through training, research and technology to drive socio-economic growth and social impact.

SIP Goals and Objectives

The goal of the program is to "build vibrant communities that are creative, innovative, inclusive and self-reliant; where participation in community life is enabled and encouragedˮ By involving students in the participatory community development processes we help them to educate for excellence in social work practice.

SIP Program Structure

The program evolves as a platform where faith and action, service and learning, research and resolve intersect. This is a 3 credit hours program. The students are sent to various community services organizations of the region to experience hands-on knowledge and skills in social services and social learning. The students not only learn about organizational diversity, dynamics, culture, opportunities but more importantly understand the role they are responsible to perform in these organizations to execute social services initiatives. Every student has to spend 144 hours with the organization and we ensure that this cycle is sustainable throughout the year.

Directorʼs Message

Mariam Sohail

Director, Centre for Social Integration Program (SIP), GIFT University
Director, Student Development Centre (SDC), GIFT University

It is my honor and privilege to lead the Centre for Social Integration Program (SIP) at GIFT University - an initiative that is deeply rooted in the vision of building compassionate, inclusive, and socially responsible communities.

SIP is more than just a program; it is a transformative journey for our students. Through our Civic and Community Engagement Course, we empower young individuals to move beyond classroom learning and immerse themselves in meaningful real-world experiences. By working closely with international, national, and local organizations in the social sector, our students develop a profound understanding of the challenges our communities face—and the power they hold to make a difference.

From advocating for Education for All, to promoting the Zero Waste movement, and raising awareness about drug abuse prevention, our students lead impactful projects that echo far beyond the campus walls. These initiatives are designed not only to educate but also to ignite empathy, civic responsibility, and active citizenship.

At SIP, we believe that true learning happens when students engage directly with diverse social groups, understanding their struggles, hopes, and resilience. We are proud to foster a culture where knowledge meets action—where future leaders are nurtured not just through academics, but through service, empathy, and purpose.

Together, we are shaping a generation that doesn’t just dream of a better world - they build it.
